Because videos are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vidyard.com\/blog\/benefits-of-video-marketing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">12 times more likely to be watched<\/a>&nbsp;by your consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/new-study-shows-user-generated-content-tops-marketing-tactics-by-influencing-90-percent-of-shoppers-purchasing-decisions-300475348.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TurnTo Keys<\/a> Survey shows that&nbsp;most shoppers (90 percent) report UGC influences their decisions to make a purchase, outranking all other forms of marketing.&nbsp;Millennial buyers, especially, need to see positive content with regards to your brand from anonymous buyers.&nbsp;For 84% of <a href=\"http:\/\/media2.bazaarvoice.com\/documents\/Bazaarvoice_WP_Talking-to-Strangers.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millennial buyers<\/a>, UGC plays a very important role in their buying decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, Indeed \u2013 India\u2019s #1 job-related search engine, partnered with Rani Mukherji\u2019s film Hitchki and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoopwhoop.com\/people-are-tweeting-about-the-professional-hiccups-theyve-experienced-heres-why-you-need-to-take-note\/?ref=social&amp;type=fb&amp;b=0#.8lw1pqa7d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched<\/a>&nbsp;a UGC campaign that asked users to share the professional hiccups they\u2019ve experienced. Nicknamed the \u2018Ahh campaign\u2019, the brand launched over 20 websites (ahh.com, followed by ahhh.com, then ahhhh.com and so on), each promising an unique experience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These websites had games, music and UGC to keep teens engaged and the experience was designed to take people from one website to the next. The most exciting part: massive user participation that eventually lead to a commercial being created by the people, for the people. (*<em>wink, wink<\/em>)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coke asked the question:&nbsp; \u201cHow would you describe a sip of Coke\u201d and urged the users to send short video clips. These clips were then stitched together to make this commercial:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Coca Cola   &#039;This Is AHH&#039;   30 The Coke Commercial Made by You!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BPPzG1gc2wo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They also roped in influencers like the YouTube sensation Kurt Hugo Schneider, who made a video that users watched at least two times on an average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Sound of AHH | KHS feat Sam Tsui\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_nF3a2xQcKg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>About&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/2013\/08\/20\/coke-digital-campaign-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4 million&nbsp;<\/a>of their target group visited the many websites launched and stayed for an average of 2 minutes each. Meg Haley, the then brand manager of Coke, went on to say that they were seeing a shift in preference in consumers who weren\u2019t frequent Coke drinkers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This marketing masterstroke is an amazing example of how Coke used User Generated Videos to its advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.redbangle.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-19.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.makerrs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-19.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.makerrs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-19-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.makerrs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-19-768x512.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 5 To-Dos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>1. The 5 W\u2019s and 1 H rule<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"pl40\">\n<li>What is your key message and intent of the campaign?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who is your target audience?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why should your audience help you sell your brand?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where does your audience live?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When do you want them to engage? (time-frame of your campaign)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How do you want them to participate?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Define the user journey<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to give your audience the whole package, just like Coke did by taking the teens from Website 1 to Website 40. An integral part of this is to chart out the various communications you\u2019re going to be sending your audience at the different stages of the campaign. Consider using\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.b2b.redbangle.com\/b2b-brand-campaign-agency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaign videos<\/a>\u00a0to drive awareness, followed by landing pages dedicated to how to go about making, uploading and sharing these user-generated videos. Define clear hashtags that you\u2019ll use to group conversations together. Last but not the least, do not forget to specify dimensions, orientations, and resolutions for the videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Incentivise your audience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your consumers are being brand advocates for you, how are you rewarding them? The reward doesn\u2019t always need to be in kind, it can also be in the form of experience. Also, establish expectations. If you\u2019re working with influencers, be clear on what it is that you\u2019re offering and what you are not, and choose quality over quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Respond<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If one of your customers has shared something on social media tagging your brand, respond to them. Have a team in place to communicate with your audience and be a part of future conversations. &lt;<em>*looks towards the social media savvy interns<\/em>&gt;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Make an Example Video<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bite-sized video should inform your audience about the intent of the campaign and how to participate in it.
